What is Activation function in neural networks??

Activation function are the mathematical equations that determine the output of the neural network. This equations are attached to all the neurons in the neural network and determines whether this particular neuron must be activated or not.

When we compare this Activation function with the brain it acts as the receptor  to send important information to the neuron.

The main function of the Activation function in the neural network is to extract all the important information for the given weights and features.

There are various types of Activation Functions some of the important Activation functions are mentioned below:

1.RELU ACTIVATION FUNCTION: The main advantage of  RELU ACTIVATION FUNCTION is that it does not activate all the neurons at the same time. Due to it all weights and biases are not updated .This makes neurons dead which never gets activated. As only some of the neurons are activated which contains important information it also reduces the problem of overfitting.

2.SIGMOID ACTIVATION FUNCTION: It is also called as logistic activation function. It is used for getting probability of the classes. So the probabilities vary between 0 to 1.It is mainly used for binary classification problems.

3.SOFTMAX ACTIVATION FUNCTION: It is similar to the sigmoid activation function it is also used for classification problems. It mainly classifies multiclass problems.

4.Tanh Activation function: It is also called as Hyperbolic activation function. It is similar to the  sigmoid activation function. The advantage of tanh Activation function is that for a negative input that the negative inputs will be mapped strongly negative and the zero inputs will be mapped nearly zero in the tanh graph.

WHATSAPP DATA: IS IT SAFE WITH YOU ?

Your chats, your text messages, call - Are they safe? Can it be read or heard by someone else?  

The answer here is NO!!

The simple text messages you send to someone can be intercepted by your own telecom operator such as JIO, AIRTEL etc. as your message first reaches the transmission tower and then to the recipient, also this information can be sent to the government if they ask the operator to do so.

The same goes for your E-mail too!

 

And, haven't you saw a scene in which a detective listens to a phone call to catch the person who committed the crime. This can happen in real life too. Some scammer or hacker may intercept your call and may listen to everything you talk to the other person.

Take care when you send something, for example, your ATM PIN in your messages or Email otherwise you know what!

After Deepika Padukone's WhatsApp Chats were leaked, the same question was for WhatsApp-Is it safe with you?

Here we have WhatsApp's privacy feature as the end to end encryption which means that no one from anywhere else can read your messages while it is sent to the other person personally be it WhatsApp employees too! 

Relief!Right! This can be taken for an example as the lock and key feature where you and your friend only have the key to the messages that you send to each other.

But, there are some ways by which your chats can be read by someone else.

• If you have enabled the auto-download media feature in your WhatsApp then disable it in the very first moment because someone can send you some virus in form of image or videos which will get downloaded and someone may hack your phone.
• If you talk in a group of some people where you are not the admin, then someone else can be added in the group where your chats get leaked-Hope, you all don't join any random WhatsApp groups.
• The Auto-backup feature. This downloads all your chats, media and stores it in a cloud or your phone and if someone gains access to your phone then they may have access to all your privacy.

This last reason has been predicted as the reason for Deepika Padukone's WhatsApp chats leak.

(though it is not correct to leak someone's private chats on media rather we don't talk about it here since our country has some privacy law in the Article 21 section 43A but I guess we aren't allowed to speak of it. As our government had banned the apps such as PUBG and more than 100 apps under the data violation act but here we go with our Indian Media showing someone's chats on big screens).

 

So, we request you all to disable the mentioned in the above three points otherwise your data is safe with you and now you can have a breath of peace.

JEE Mains NTA Results- UNFAIR?

JEE Mains - One of the renowned examinations for getting into prestigious Institutions in India.

2020 made everything difficult in the world and so for this examination too. All the aspirants waiting to appear for the April attempt were stalled and stalled from April and then it was this September month they had to give this examination.

 Not long ago the results of the examination were published in which we found many students discontent with their results. This isn't the first time that this happened. Every year, thousands of students feel this way because of many reasons which makes them really sad and feeling too much concerned about their future. Many cases have come up related to suicides committed by this young generation due to a lot of pressure during these exams or due to fewer marks or rank. 

The JEE Mains 2020 April attempt had some unpredicted and unsatisfied results which created hatred for NTA(National Testing Agency) among students. Let's just talk about the reasons why the students felt disheartened after the results.

During the pandemic, students were stalled too much and which gradually increased the competition (We might also consider the fact that many also just left studying considering that the exams wouldn't just be conducted soon enough) but at last we were with an increased amount of competition. It might be one of the reasons.

We have heard a lot about the students complaining about the exam conducted in various shifts (this time 8) and the unfair point in the exam comes to us that the difficulty of the exam varies. 

Also, relatively 26% of students didn't appear for the April attempt due to various reasons of safety while writing exam. Due to this, students appearing for exam on different shifts varies in large amount and which is actually unfair because the percentile of students gets affected and as they had done so much hard work, they weren't able to score good percentile. Students have been complaining about this since the start of online exams.

This all increases the inaccuracy of the results.

One of the main point we would like to mention that the transparency in the result evaluation process of NTA. Since students have every right to know how their rank and percentile got affected, so this is a must that NTA's Officials should take care of.

What now?

As the results have been declared and there is suppose nothing we can do. The students who have qualified for JEE advanced must prepare for it and take the college they get with their marks.

 If you still have chances left and you are unsatisfied with your results, you can think of taking drop and study for the next whole year with full enthusiasm as this is the question of your career.

Many say that they don't want to take a drop. What for them? 

See, if you get any normal college then it is totally fine. It is the study you do in the college and excel in your branch that will determine what package and what value you will have in your life. There have been many examples of students graduating from an average college and working in big companies.

So, It isn't about taking your life or getting depressed for such an exam but to learn from the mistakes and excel in your life.
